Trunk open indicator light

But the rest of the lights turned off yet the trunk one remained on for quite a while which made me create this thread. I wouldn't expect one interior light to stay on much longer than the rest. WebJul 11, 2013 · In case anyone else experiences this, there are 4 wires going to the trunk lid inside the rubber boot on the passenger side from the car body. Purple/Orange is a control wire to the trunk light and "trunk open" dash indicator, Tan/Yellow wire is the control wire for the deck-lid release, 2 other Black/White wires are grounds. WebMar 3, 2024 · 20,371 Posts. #4 · May 12, 2024. Possibly, a fault in the latch mechanism switch. There's a small hatch/cover opening in the center bottom of the hatch inner trim. Take off the cover. There's two sets of wires going to connectors on the latch mechanism. Remove the two connectors, and then see if the "hatch open" warning light goes out.

The electrical plug, located about 8†to the left of the latch has 4 wires.
